March's project is Urban Rural!
This is the second year we have
done this project with the third
grade class. We will be
transforming our classroom
into a small town where the
students will run their own
businesses and farms.

Each student will need 5 things:
Person-bring any kind of toy that
will work as a small citizen of our
town (about 3-6 inches tall)
Car-should be about the right size
for your citizen. You can also
make one out of a small box.
Money-Each student will get 200 toy dollars. We will provide.
Home-Third graders will each build a home for them and their roommate out of a Kleenex box.
Business (or Farm)-Fifth graders will be responsible for constructing their selected business or farm. They will each interview and hire a third grader as well.

There is a PowerPoint in the Documents section that gives examples of past homes and businesses. This has always been a fun project that lets the students experience what it is like to be a member of a community. We'll begin after spring break.
