Faith and Work

Wow! I just visited Father Weldon's website.  There is a truly inspiring article about a mother's love for her child.  It pulled on my heartstrings.  As mothers, we know the love we have for our children, but we sometimes underestimate the power of that love. Let your child/children know how much you love and support them.  They are never to old to hear it.  Kids- parents like to hear it too.

My first "wow" of the day, however, came at 11:30 A. M. this morning.  As a middle school, we watched President Obama address students.  He discuss work ethic, responsibility, goal setting, and most of all, HARD WORK.  This is the key to being successful, no matter what endeavors we are attempting.  I believe if more children and adults would WORK HARDER, all areas of life would improve.

I just wanted to share my opinions today. Thanks for "checking out"my webpage.

Types of Sentences

This week we will be exploring the four types of sentences: imperative, declarative, interrogative, and exclamatory.  We'll talk about different types of punctuation with these sentences, and why a fragment is a fragment.  Does it have a subject, a predicate, or is it a subordinate clause?  What's a subordinate clause?  It is a clause that can not stand alone in a sentence.  For example:  When we get home.  This is a clause because it is not a complete thought.

If you are helping your child at home, these are words and examples to look up and study.  Please make sure your child has a quiet place to study and to do homework.  This helps them schedule their time also.

As always, I appreciate all your help.  Parents are the primary educators of their children.  Keep up the great work!!!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Fischer

The middle schoolers and I diligently dug into writing this past week.  We wrote rough drafts, edited, and proofread our paragraphs. We will be publishing them tomorrow.  Those of you who attend our "Parents Night" will have the opportunity to read these published paragraphs.  I look forward to seeing you Wednesday evening.

Dear Parents,

I would love to thank you for a wonderful day with your children today!! It seems that summer flew by, but I truly missed seeing all of them.  The day progressed rapidly, and whatever I forgot to send home today, I will hopefully get it sent home tomorrow.  I look forward to another great school year.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Gina Fischer
