2018-2019 Stewardship Renewal
I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.' John 10:10
Called the "greatest Easter painting" by many, was painted in 1898 by a little know Swiss painter Eugene Burnand (1850-1921). Not even showing the Risen Jesus, the painting portrays two witnesses, possibly the oldest and youngest of the Apostles, running to the tomb. Titled "the Disciples Peter and John Running to the Sepulchre in the Morning of the Resurrection," John is clasping his hand in prayer, while Peter holds his hand over his heart. You can feel the intense drive forward by the two with their hair and cloaks flying back with the wind. They are sprinting towards a new found faith. They are not stationary, but missionary disciples.
